Great owners... great park. They own a first class restaurant in front of the park and we had great food (Lobster). Got us in at last moment when the highly touted by themselves RV park, Searsport Ocean Campground did not appeal to us in a Class A motorhome with the unkempt premises. We got to know Jim, Alex and Jim's wife who own the campground. Very well groomed. Would stay here again.
Watch Out! We paid a $200 deposit for a planned 4 day stay. The owner stated that I had to commit to a 7 day stay. Because we were driving from FL to Maine, I said OK. When we got to the park, it was not as promised... un-kept and seedy. We decided not to stay and went down the street to the Moorings....I told the owner that I was going to forfeit my deposit... She said no... She was going to charge my card for the full 7 days for a total of $495.00 plus. We were in a 45' big rig. Since being in the area, have heard nothing but bad things about the park.. Would rate the place a negative 1 if available.
Walleye fishing on Lake of the Woods. We have been going to Tomahawk for 15+ years with our big rig. Fishing boats and guides available as well as modern cabins for non-campers. Family owned with 3rd generation now involved. Shore lunch of fresh walleyes cooked by the fishing guide is a special treat. Will continue to try to make it an annual event.
